Kate Moss lights up on Paris Fashion Week ramp

London, Mar 10 (PTI) Supermodel Kate Moss made a return to the runway at the Paris Fashion Week, walking the ramp at the Louis Vuitton show with a cigarette in tow.
The British beauty indulged her bad habit in a pair of tight hot pants and bondage-style lace-up boots.
Moss was the perfect choice to close the fetish-themed show and had the crowd, including fiance Jamie Hince, cheering as she theatrically blew out smoke, reported Daily Mail online.
The 37-year-old is scarcely seen on the catwalk anymore, though she earned a whopping USD 12 million with her modelling assignments last year.
The highly stylised show also saw Naomi Campbell, Amber Valetta, Carolyn Murphy and Maria Carla, walk the ramp.

Oscars 2011: Top 10 Best Dressed

Our favorite fashionistas did not disappoint us at the Oscars with many of them turning up gorgeous head-turning ensembles.
The winners for last night's events were those who opted for simple and minimalistic style instead of OTT and screaming for attention types. We take a look at the 10 best dressed stars at the 2011 Academy Awards. Here goes the list.

Mila Kunis
Mila Kunis was clearly the best dressed woman at the red carpet. She wore the season's biggest trend, lace, for the event and picked a beautiful hue for that too. The soft and romantic, lavender colored dress complimented her amazing hairdo and stunning make-up.

Halle Berry
She can be considered as the red carpet goddess after turning out looking beautiful as ever year after year. In this sheer and sparkly Marchesa gown, she gets the trend just right. The gorgeous make-up and hair adds to her divine beauty and we don't think anyone can look this gorgeous.

Camila Alves
Matthew McConaughey's designer girlfriend Camila Alves looked breath-taking in this Kaufman Franco gown. The plunging neckline of the dress combined with glamorous earrings and middle-parted bun just spelled glamour on the red carpet. This diva proves that she is, indeed, one of the most glamorous babes in town.

Michelle Williams
Williams looks beautiful in this simple Chanel dress. The understated gown was a fresh change from the usual, glittery dressed that were the order of the night. By combining the dress with diamond earrings and stunning hairdo, Williams manages to get the style just right.

Cate Blanchett
Cate Blanchett took the red carpet fashion to a different leve by turning up in this beautifully embellished Givenchy Couture gown. The textured beads on the gown sttod out and lent spunk to the nude flowy gown. With her great hairstyle and minimalistic make-up, her style looks chic and effortless.

Jennifer Lawrence
Jennifer Lawrence instantly reminds one of the glorious Baywatch look with her red Calvin Klein Collection gown. Adding to her glamorous look are her blond waves and smokey eyes. Her clutch is also extremely classy and adds glitz to her dress.

Hailey Steinfeld
This 14 year old lady sure knows how to rock the red carpet style yet look her age. She wears this pink Marchesa tulle gown to perfection. She avoids any loud make-up or bling and completes her look with a simple headband looking classy yet adorable.

Mandy Moore
The actress looks absolutely stuning in this Monique Lhuiller gown. In fact, she looks like a princess out of a fairy tale in the nude shimmery dress. Her make-up brings out a freshness in her face with the coral lips as the centre of attention.

Natalie Portman
The Best Actress winner was a winner on the red carpet too. In this burgundy Rodarte dress, this mommy-to-be looks radiant. Perhaps its the pregnancy glow or one from her expected win that makes her look so beautiful and a delight to watch on the red carpet.

Celine Dion
The singer surprised everyone by turning up at the event looking like a dream. She looks gorgeous in this creamish-white Armani Prive gown. Its understated elegance was combined with the scintillating emerald necklace. Also, the gown highlights her curves perfectly well while her hair is classic and sexy.

Branded clothing stores shut-shop on March 7

Clothing retailers stayed shut across India on March 7, in a response to a shut-down call given by various clothing associations.

Over 10,000 branded clothing retail outlets pulled own their shutters in protest against the 10 percent excise duty proposed on branded apparels in the budget.

Major garment retailers like Pantaloon, Shoppers Stop, Westside, Lilliput, Arvind Brands, Provogue and many more smaller brands participated in the first of its kind store closure call.

The apparel retailers are demanding a roll-back of the proposed excise duty. Experts have put the loss to the retail industry at between Rs 3-4 billion, due to the shut-down.

Clothing with an annual turnover of Rs 15 million and having a registered or labelled garment will be liable to pay the 10 percent mandatory excise duty.
